Hi Reader,
Welcome to this week’s edition of The Neat Reset — a gentle pause in your week to tidy your space, quiet your mind, and start fresh.
As summer begins, everything feels a little more open—longer days, lighter schedules, and space to exhale. It’s also a good time to notice what’s filling that space, and whether it’s helping or hindering your peace.
Sometimes, the biggest shift doesn’t come from what we remove from our homes, but from what we stop bringing in. This week’s reset is a reflection on that. I made a list that’s both, practical and personal, born from months of simplifying and rethinking what belongs in my home.
This Week's Reset
Letting fewer things in has had a bigger impact on my home than constantly organizing what’s already there. Over time, I started noticing which purchases led to clutter, guilt, or decision fatigue. So, I chose to stop bringing them in. And even as someone who genuinely enjoys the process of sorting, organizing, and creating order, I’ve come to see that the most peaceful spaces often begin with fewer decisions in the first place.
In this week's post, I’m opening up about the things I’ve learned to say no to—like impulse purchases and items I kept “just in case”— and how those choices have brought more ease and clarity to my mind, and home.
Reset Ritual ✨
Take a moment today to notice one item you habitually bring into your home that you no longer want or need. Maybe it’s a sale item you purchase “just in case,” or a clearance candle that’s more clutter than comfort.
Name it, and decide: I don’t bring that in anymore. It’s a small shift, but it opens the door to a calmer, clearer space.
A Thought to Carry You 🕊️
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth (…) but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven (...) For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
— Matthew 6:19-21 (RSVCE)
Let’s make space for what matters most.
